MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR

Welcome to the International School of Bergen, an IB World School nestled amid the beautiful mountains, lakes, fjords and forests of Bergen in southwestern Norway.

Founded in 1975, our school's experienced IB educators take pride in continuing a tradition of service to international and local families and businesses in the Bergen community. Celebrating over 25 years of IB MYP learning and teaching, ISB was the first school in the world to be authorized with this prestigious programme.

Paul McKenzie, Director

2018-2019 is an important year for ISB. We have said farewell to my predecessor June Murison who after four decades of stewardship has helped provide the city of Bergen an international school of which we can all be proud. This is also the year ISB leaves Slettebakken to occupy large state-of-the-art facilities on a forest edge in Sandsli, a short walk from the Bybane – Bergen’s modern and convenient light rail system.

An education experienced in relevant situations adds meaning and strength to academic, social and physical pursuits. Our holistic, learner-centered approach provides students the knowledge, skills and habits needed to thrive in the challenging International Baccalaureate programmes and life beyond school.

Our shared values of community, integrity, respect, and responsibility are infused into our daily activities inside and outside the classrooms. By focusing on character development, intercultural understanding, personal and group responsiblities, service learning, and healthy living, our students are already contributing to a better and more peaceful world.

If your family is interested in joining our vibrant community, please fill in a general application form or contact our admissions team at +47 55 30 63 30 or post@isob.no

We look forward to hearing from you.

Paul McKenzie, Director
